Afterburner (アフタ－バ－ナ－)

Synopsis: 

In the Marrouse Empire, appearances are everything.

Reatze has dedicated her life to being worthy of the crown, but recognition never comes. Between the pressure from her family, the weight of duty, and the growing tensions between kingdoms, her faith in what she believed in most is shaken.

In her quest for redemption—or revenge—Reatze will uncover the secrets her family buried beneath centuries of power… and the consequences of confronting a world that fears those not born to obey.

But it will not be an easy path, for on this continent, nothing is as it seems.

Gameplay: 

Afterburner is a visual novel with turn-based combat and RPG elements such as level progression, skills, a variety of playable characters, types, stats, items (and item management), among others.

On the visual novel side, the main characters have multiple expressions and voice acting (mainly in combat), use "Live2D" style animated sprites, feature Spanish voice acting by real actors (game text is traduced in both English and native Spanish), and include many illustrations throughout the story.

Set in a science fiction world with fantasy elements and a warlike anime aesthetic. It has a generally serious and introspective tone, emphasizing the complex tensions between factions and characters.

Technical specifications:

- Currently available in both Spanish and English.

- Available for Windows 10-11, Linux and Mac (PC).

- Available for Android devices.

- Recommended minimum requirements:

(To play with animations enabled): 6-core CPU, Intel UHD 770 integrated graphics or GT 1030 GPU or better, 16GB RAM, 2GB storage.

(To play with static sprites) (from v0.3.5 onwards): Quad-core CPU, Intel UHD 630 integrated graphics or better, 8GB RAM, 2GB storage.

Installation: 

Download and extract the game from Itch.io or from the external link on Google Drive. You don't need to log in to play without problems. If downloading for android, extract the .apk file from your document manager.

NOTE: The only official ways to download the game are directly from Itch.io, official game Discord or via Google Drive using the shared "Afterburner" folder from afterburner.game@gmail.com.

Development: 

Afterburner is a free game that is still under development and is divided into chapters. It will be updated periodically with new chapters and content. As I have the sole developer/illustrator/writer role, I do almost everything for the game, so releasing updates takes time. While I always strive to keep the game as presentable as possible, some things are subject to changes and are not set in stone, such as some backgrounds.
